Jingle Brawl 3 Super Smash Bros. Rules!

If you didn’t see them, here are the official rules for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U at Jingle Brawl, presented by Press Start Games. Click on the link above to read them in full!

  • Players are subject to disqualification at the tournament director’s discretion for violation of rules and regulations.
  • Rules/Regulations are subject to change
  • Double Elimination, Best of 3 until Finals
  • Best of 5 for Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals
  • 1v1, Time: 6 minutes, Stock: 2
  • Items: OFF/NONE
  • Handicap: OFF
  • Pause: Disabled
  • Stalling: Banned
  • Custom Moves: Banned
  • Equipment: Banned
  • DLC: All DLC Included
  • All stages except Battlefield, Final Destination, Smashville, Town and City, Lylat Cruise, and Dreamland 64 are banned. Winner bans 1 stage and loser counterpicks from available stages.
  • Striking: RPS, Winner bans first. Winner bans 1, Loser bans 2, Winner picks from available stages. Both players can agree to go to a legal stage instead of striking.
  • Gentlemen’s rule: Both players can agree to go to a legal stage instead of striking.
  • There will be a 60 second time limit between matches.
  • Swearing/Foul Language are prohibited. This is a family-friendly event.
  • Touching/Altering the equipment without consent of the tournament director will result in disqualification and/or other disciplinary action.
  • Heckling/Harassment will not be tolerated. (Minor “smack talk” is fine. Insults and distractions such as waving hands in front of a player’s face are not acceptable)
  • Tournament Signups must be submitted by 11:45 am on the day of the event. Any submissions after that will not be included.
  • Players are welcome and encouraged to bring/use their own controllers for the tournament, but both Wii and GameCube controllers will be available. Anyone wishing to use their 3DS to participate must have their own copy of the game for their 3DS; we will not be providing any 3DS’s for use. 3DS’s MUST be disconnected after completing a match.
